Jane Cavalier
Founder and CEO
Jane Cavalier is the Founder and CEO of BrightMark Consulting and one of the country’s most experienced brand strategists, having built and transformed more than 100 brands across global enterprises, high-growth companies, government, and nonprofit organizations. Her work has shaped category-defining brands including Snapple and Qwest and driven growth, differentiation, and enterprise value for organizations such as American Express, Johnson & Johnson, ExxonMobil, Samsung, IBM, AT&T, Citibank, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Before founding BrightMark in 2001, Jane was EVP of Strategic Planning Worldwide at McCann Erickson, the world’s largest advertising agency, where she led global strategy, improved operational performance, and built McCann’s brand consultancy, The 14th Floor, into a major profit center. Earlier in her career, she was President of Buckley DeCerchio Cavalier, the creative boutique that made Snapple a household name with Made from the Best Stuff on Earth and was featured by The New York Times as one of America’s most creative agencies.
Jane is known for partnering directly with CEOs and leadership teams at moments of change, reinvention, and high-stakes growth, helping them define who they are, where they are going, and the brand needed to get them there. She has worked with legendary leaders including Ken Chenault, Ralph Larsen, and Michael Bronner, as well as cultural and business influencers such as Gisele Bündchen and Dr. Mark Hyman. Through BrightMark, she leads business strategy, manages the firm’s P&L, and directs a senior talent network, partnering with clients to create value through growth, intellectual property, identity, and business model transformation.
In addition to her consulting work, Jane brings a rare governance perspective to branding. She is a Certified Corporate Director (NACD) and has served on several boards, including Nemours Children’s Health, Pardee RAND Graduate School, Marpai (NASDAQ), United WE, and the American Composers Orchestra. This experience gives her deep insight into capital allocation, risk, reputation, innovation, and the realities of leading organizations through change.
Jane is the author of the national best-seller The Enchanted Brand and has taught branding and strategy at Yale School of Management and NYU Stern School of Business. She is also pursuing a Master of Social Work at Boston University, deepening her understanding of human behavior, resilience, and the forces that shape belief and decision-making.
